Gordon McComb Automation is a consulting firm based in Southern California specializing in productivity enhancement through document automation. Macros, merges, that sort of thing.

The company's principal architect is author and consultant Gordon McComb, one of the most widely respected experts in the use of document automation for productivity enhancement. He regularly consults with companies on the use of Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Visual Basic, Windows multimedia, and other automation tools.

Gordon's clients include Microsoft, Corel, Technicolor, Adobe Systems, Avery-Dennison, Texas and California office of the attorney general, the Internal Revenue Services, The Scripps Research Institute, US Federal Trade Commission, numerous other US and state agencies, and law firms, both large and small.

In addition to his consulting, Gordon has written 65 books and over a thousand magazine articles during his 30+ years as a professional writer. More than a million copies of his books are in print, in over a dozen languages.

For 13 years Gordon wrote a weekly syndicated newspaper column on computers, which reached several million readers nationwide.

Gordon is the author of several best-selling books on document automation, including WordPerfect 5.1 Macros and Templates, winner of PC Magazine's Editors' Choice and Computer Press Association awards.

During the formative years of Microsoft Word, Gordon co-wrote the definitive guide for that product on the Macintosh, Working With Word, published by Microsoft Press.

He has been a contributing editor to numerous magazines, such as Popular Science, on computer and technology topics.

Through his consulting, training, books, magazine articles, and products, Gordon is one of the foremost authorities on macros and other document automation techniques.

Gordon lives and works in the coastal town of Oceanside, California with his wife of 34 years, three cats, and his trusty dog Rubie.

His hobbies include enjoying his grandchildren, playing with robotics (he is the author of the best-selling Robot Builder's Bonanza, and has been called the "Father of Hobby Robotics"), watching imported British TV shows (Foyle's War is his current favorite), and listening to "space age" retro lounge music streamed from Kansas Public Radio.
